Radiologic Technologist Full-Time/Part-Time/Per Diem

Job Summary

We are looking for Radiologic Technologists to join our team!   We have two imaging facilities, located in the Northwest and the East side of Tucson.   We also use EPIC for our electronic health care records system.

Responsibilities: Perform routine radiographic procedures and other related duties.

  • Radiation Technology – Demonstrates competency in performing x-ray procedures to include proper positioning of patient and setting of equipment controls. Demonstrates adherence to safety standards for radiation exposure; (ALARA) and effectively utilizes radiation protective and shielding materials. Follows physician orders precisely and effectively communicates instructions to patient. Performs scheduled maintenance and calibrations of equipment and adheres to protocol for investigating deviations and corrective action. Adheres to OSHA/CLIA guidelines regarding universal precautions, biohazardous safety and infection control.
  • Administrative – Demonstrates thorough knowledge of ACP policy and procedure in performing administrative duties to include x-ray requisitions, medical record and patient confidentiality, documentation, supply ordering, consent forms and waivers. Maintains up-to-date resource materials (equipment manuals, regulatory guidelines, contract, ancillary and vendor grids). Maintains complete and current equipment quality control and maintenance records. Maintains organized system for optimal patient flow and quality diagnostic x-rays by reviewing appointment schedule and planning/prioritizing procedures. Assists with effective medical records management by accurately completing requests for charts.  Demonstrates competency in utilizing office equipment to include computer, printers, fax machine, photocopier, and telephone system. Follows protocol for troubleshooting and reporting hardware and software problems.
  • Customer Service – Promotes excellence in patient relations and customer service, emphasizing safety, compassion, responsiveness, respect, and courtesy. Greets patients with eye contact and a smile. Provides for patient privacy in exam room. Asks questions to determine their needs rather than assuming. Uses active listening skills, getting information and summarizing to check understanding. Looks for opportunities to exceed patient’s expectations by acting promptly, involving patient where solutions are needed.

  • Physical Requirements and Working Conditions – Requires frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, stretching, and lifting within a confined area.  Requires full range of body motion for lifting patients and positioning them safely for filming. Manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Occasional lifting, pulling, pushing, and carrying items weighing up to 30 pounds (medical records, supplies, carts, equipment). Requires exposure to radiation and bodily fluids and tissue.

Required Education: Completion of course in radiologic technology approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.  Current certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and current Arizona state licensing (ADHS).  Prefer current CPR certification.
